Join students across the country as they participate in an online mock election to nominate the next President of the United States, while learning about the electoral process. Student voting will take place two weeks prior to the national election, and results will be updated nightly. And students who are unhappy with their presidential choices can nominate themselves for president, and post their position papers to the Web site. Teachers can also download extensive multidisciplinary curriculum for free!

Take your students on a virtual journey as slaves along the Underground Railroad. Use realtime data Web sites to guide your way, join in online discussions about ethical issues related to slavery, solve dilemmas faced during the trip, and compare your route and experiences with other virtual escaping slaves in classrooms around the country.

|  | Watt's Up? A Co-nect Energy Project
Grades 4 - 10

Could we ever really run out of electricity? Through this Co-nect conservation project, we explore this question while looking at ways to conserve energy. Students will have the chance to exchange and compare energy use data with peers around the country as well as talk with an energy expert online.

Archived Project
A perennial favorite, the Kids 'N Fitness project ran for three consecutive springs. Students tracked the amount they exercised for five days and competed with other classrooms to achieve bronze, silver, or gold status. The project no longer runs, but teachers can still download extensive K-12 curriculum that incorporates fitness into all subject areas.
